On-Foot Look: sacai x Nike VaporWaffle “Game Royal/Sport Fuchsia”

sacai and Nike have joined force to create next level sneakers since 2015. This year, one of the most anticipated releases is their new VaporWaffle. Thanks to yankeekicks, we can have a detailed look at the “Game Royal/Sport Fuchsia” colorway.

Upon first glance, the silhouette and color scheme are already on point.

Designer Chitose Abe fuses the Nike Pegasus and VaporFly together to bring us a reconstructed vision. With a see-through mesh material tying the upper together, suede panels in light cream act as eyestay and mudguard.

The understated base makes way for the bold double detailing to shine. Alternating between colors and textures, everything comes in pairs and stacks on top of one another: from the Swooshes to the tongues.

For more stacking action, direct your gaze at the multi-layered sole. A vibrant blue appears between two layers of white, reminding people that they’re no ordinary sneakers.

To complete the design, a black outsole envelops the midsole sandwich.

Love or hate the sole design, you can’t deny it’s bringing back some 90s nostalgia. So huge kudos to yankeekicks for making the photos look like a huge 90s throwback!
