Just when we’re trying to get our hands on the recently released ASICS GEL-Lyte III, there’s another Sean Wotherspoon work to look out for. The co-owner of Round Two teamed up with adidas Originals to present the earth-friendly “SUPEREARTH”, so let’s check it out!
Leaked way back in February, the “SUPEREARTH” has been highly anticipated. Upon first glance, the out-of-the-box floral design already takes us by surprise. But don’t let it distract you from the sneaker’s extremely eco-conscious production method.
Built with white vegan leather, the upper demonstrates adidas’ dedication to cut animal-derived products in their sneakers. Even though the pair’s silhouette takes after the iconic adidas Superstar model, the colorful frayed flowers are definitely the star of the “SUPEREARTH”.
Coming in yellow, black, red, green, blue and orange, the floral graphics grace the pair’s side panels. To add a unique Sean Wotherspoon twist, loose threads extend from the flowers to touch the ground.
White lace and tongue completes the upper, and are accentuated by eyestay panels in pastel pink and blue.
Following the waste-minimizing storyline, a sole unit made with recycled rubber sits underfoot. For an extra bit of quirkiness, the insole comes in cork texture adorned with the Super Earth logo.
With the official announcement, the wait is officially almost over – you can cop these “SUPEREARTH” Superstars on August 29 on the adidas web store. The asking price is $110 USD.
