Since Nike released the “Sashiko” remakes of the SB Dunk Low and Kyrie S2 Hybrid, fans are anticipating Jordan Brand to give some of their most iconic silhouette the Sashiko treatment. Recently, photos of Air Jordan 4 in the Sashiko outfit have surfaced. So let’s take a look.
Compared to its predecessors, the Air Jordan 4 flavor of “Sashiko” is far less understated. Adding to the prominent denim and stitching elements are patchwork and embroidered Japanese graphics.
As mismatched uppers on-trend now, each side of the “Sashiko” AJ4s come with different print panels to give a DIY-feel appearance. Even though the color scheme is a simple combination of white, red and blue, the pair never bores you with its wide array of graphics.
To fit the theme, the signature Air Jordan 4 mesh panel gets reworked in the form of white stitching. Navy blue eyelets also appears to be semi-translucent to enhance the aesthetic.
The same shade of blue adorns the heel, featuring a Jumpman logo on top. The see-through texture makes way for the Japanese motifs to shine through.
Underfoot, the classic Air Jordan 4 midsole is painted in Sail. A semi-translucent outsole wraps up the overall look.
And that would be the “Sashiko” Air Jordan 4. Nike just announced that they will be for sale later this fall with the price tag of $190 USD, so we don’t have that much longer to wait.
